Sadako Lewis

Sadako Lewis is an abstract painter from Diamondhead, MS. Originally from Japan, Sadako brings together influences from Japanese visual traditions, European modernism, and American Abstract Expressionism. All of her paintings begin with gestural drawing or mark making. From start to finish, she is consistently rotating the canvas to achieve a striking composition with vertical and horizontal directions. The entire process includes numerous layers and incorporates multiple mediums, oriental calligraphy, and collage.
