Melinda Gandy
Fascination With Light Against Dark
“I was born and raised in the Gulf South. We wrote the book on summer: crushing humidity that plumps our wrinkles and keeps us good-lookin’ past our time; billions of bugs that attract an amazing diversity of birds; heat that pushes us into or onto the water, some to play, some like me to gaze in fascination at the play of light on water. I love to paint it all, from figure and portraiture, to still life, landscape and seascape.”
