Most of Lizzie’s creations are simplistic and traditional, however; she does enjoy exploring different textures and experimental designs with glaze. The type of work she does in ceramics is primarily wheel thrown. Her love for this medium comes from the challenging nature of the entire process. The physical aspect of throwing the pots to the patience and planning required to complete a piece, drew her to it. Bringing color to her pieces is the most exciting part of the process.
Lizzie started creating from an early age, having come from a family of artist and musician. Her mom, an art teacher of over 30 years, always had a project for her using one medium over another. It was only natural that Lizzie decided on a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Auburn where she concentrated on graphic design. She loves painting, photography, and throwing pots. She continues to explore new techniques and different forms of expression. Lizzie currently teaches children’s pottery at the Eastern Shore Art Center in Fairhope, AL and continues to learn and explore through classes offered there.
